Disciplinary Action
Ms. CHAN Kwan Yee Kirby was found to have contravened various sections of the Code of Professional Conduct of HKPS while she was a Graduate Member of HKPS in 2013. The Discipline Board's findings and recommendations that Ms. CHAN Kwan Yee Kirby be expelled from HKPS were endorsed by the Council of HKPS on 7th March 2016.

Dr. Alexander Lo Che-wah was found to have contravened 1.9(b) of the Code of Professional Conduct of HKPS - "Members endeavour to maintain high standards of competence in their work. They provide services to clients only within the boundaries of their competence, based on their education, training, supervised experience and practice." He was expelled from the Society on 14 February 2011.

Ms. LEE, Pui Ling Lora was complained to have contravened various sections of the Code of Professional Conduct of HKPS in two separate complaint cases while she was a Registered Psychologist of HKPS in 2021. Two Discipline Boards were formed to investigate the complaints independently. Both Discipline Boards found the complaints substantiated and both recommended to suspend Ms. LEE’s HKPS membership for up to seven years. In addition, Ms. LEE was also required to undergo further training and supervision in her work. The Discipline Boards’ recommendations were endorsed by the Council of HKPS on 19 March 2023.

Dr. KOT, Lam Kat Katherine, was complained to have contravened various sections of the Code of Professional Conduct of HKPS while she was a Graduate Member, Member of the Division of Counselling Psychology, and Registered Psychologist of HKPS. A Discipline Board was convened to investigate the case, and found the complaint substantiated. The Discipline Board recommended to suspend Dr. KOT’s membership of HKPS for three years. In addition, Dr. KOT was required to seek and undergo professional supervision to improve on various aspects in her professional practice. These Discipline Board recommendations were endorsed by the Council of HKPS on 26 January 2024.

Ms. HO Yuen Chee (Ms. HO), after a full investigation by a Discipline Board in 2024 (Case No. HKPS-CC-20230926) conducted in accordance with the 2021 By-Laws of the Hong Kong Psychological Society, was found to have contravened various sections of the Code of Professional Conduct (2012) while being a Graduate Member. Members of the Discipline Board unanimously agreed that the most severe sanction should be imposed to safeguard the public interest. The Discipline Board’s findings and recommendations that Ms. HO be expelled from HKPS were endorsed by the Council of HKPS, effective 31 December 2024.
