Welcome to the Homepage of The Hong Kong Psychological Society


The Hong Kong Psychological Society (HKPS), is both a learned society and a professional association of all specialties of psychology in Hong Kong, founded in 1968. Its principal aims are to encourage the growth of psychological activities in Hong Kong and to promote the development of an appropriate professional environment to facilitate the maintenance of professional standards for psychologists. To this end, the Society maintains a Code of Professional Conduct for the guidance of members and to compel the observance of strict rules of professional conduct as a condition of membership. It also maintains a Register of psychologists who have applied for and granted admission to the Register.

HKPS currently has 4 Divisions:


Division of Clinical Psychology(DCP)

Division of Educational Psychology(DEP)

Division of Industrial-Organizational Psychology(DIOP)

Division of Counselling Psychology(DCoP)

HKPS is a member of


International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS)

Announcement
Dr. Alexander Lo Che-wah was found to have contravened 1.9(b) of the Code of Professional Conduct of HKPS - "Members endeavour to maintain high standards of competence in their work. They provide services to clients only within the boundaries of their competence, based on their education, training, supervised experience and practice." He was expelled from the Society on 14 February 2011.
